Passengers with Reduced Mobility

Passengers with Reduced Mobility

EU Regulation 1107/2006 transferring responsibility of passengers with reduced mobility from airlines to airports came into effect on Saturday 26th July, 2008.

At each airport the Airport Authority or an appointed handling partner will be responsible for passengers requiring special assistance. There must be a smooth and easy transit for the passenger through all areas of the airport.

In order for the Airport Authority or handling partner to provide the best service possible and ensure the customer’s needs are met, it is important that Aer Arann is advised of those requirements, where possible, 48 hours in advance of travel.

Customers can call the Aer Arann reservations centre on the numbers below who will record all details of the passenger’s requirements

  • 0818 210 210 (From within Ireland – local rates apply)
  • 0870 876 76 76 (From within UK)
  • +353 818 210 210 (Rest of the World – international rates apply)

Guidelines for Customers:

Wheelchair customers

It is Aer Arann policy to accept wheelchair customers. We ask that customers advise us their level of disability prior to travel as due to aircraft restrictions we may be limited in the amount of wheelchair customers we can accept per flight.

Guidelines for customers travelling with their own wheelchair or mobility device

Customers travelling with their own wheelchair must contact Aer Arann reservations in advance of their flight.
Please contact Aer Arann Reservations at the time of making the booking or notify us later, but at least 48hours before the flight.

Customers traveling with Guide/Assistance Dogs

Guide/Assistance Dogs accompanying customers with disabilities will be accepted for travel subject to all country entry requirements being fulfilled. This is the customer’s responsibility. All guide/assistance dogs must be pre-booked by calling the Aer Arann Call Centre.

Customers requesting Meet and Assistance

This service will be provided if required. We ask that customers advise us the level of assistance they require prior to travel.

Where can I get this assistance from?

Once Aer Arann has been advised of the assistance required we will then notify the Airport authority or Handling partner. There are a number of designated pick up points in all airports where customers will be collected from. More information on individual airports layouts can be found on their website – listed below:
